Audreys Nursery Tour

When dreaming up the perfect nursery for our soon to be little girl I wanted a space that was fun, light bright and airy, a little modern but girly, and a room that could grow with her over the years. I have always loved Rifle Paper Co. and the amazing fabric Anna has created with Cotton & Steel. Choosing the fabric for Audreys crib was the starting point, I knew that I could pull colours from it for the room.

I selected “Herb Garden in Natural” from the Almalfi Collection.

Keeping with the light, bright and airy feel David and I decided to purchase the Baby Letto Scoot Crib in White/Washed Natural from Momease Baby Boutique, and matching glider. We did not want a large dresser/change table so we went with the Ikea Hemnes 3 drawer in white wash. Its the perfect size to place a change pad and some accessories.

Books were a must have for the space, not only are they educational but they are colourful, a fun way to brighten the space without the use of art work. Most of the books were gifted to us at our baby shower, and ones I had picked up over the months of pregnancy.

While shopping in Vancouver I came across the cutest hook for her hooded towels to hang from. A beautiful “A” from Anthropologie.

NEW BAMBOO ITEMS: “Everyday Top” & “Modern Harems”

We are beyond excited to introduce two of our newest items. The bamboo “everyday top” and “modern harems” If you have felt any of our bamboo items you know how soft this material is! It is silky, buttery soft and luxurious to the touch. Whats not to love?!

Bamboo is sustainable product that has so many positives about it!

Bamboo wicks water away from the skin much quicker than cotton, and can absorb 3-4times more water than cotton while not sticking to the skin
The fabrics structure is very breathable, keeping you warm in the winter and cooler in the summer
Bamboo is also antibacterial, antifungal and odour resistant
Hypoallergenic – the fibres do not irritate the skin
Washed and wears great! Little to no pilling, fading and stretching

Meet our “Everyday Top” – We have designed this top with your little in mind. Not only is it made with luxurious bamboo we have extended the arms and the body to be longer than usual. We know how annoying it can be when clothes only fit a few months. When designing this top we added a “lap” or “envelope” neck so it is easy to get on and off your little one. You can also pull it down the body rather than over the head if they spit up to avoid getting it in their hair!

This top is available in 3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m, and 18-24m. We have it in blush, grey stripe, and black.

Meet our “Modern Harems” – We call these the modern harem because they are just that! A modern take on your everyday harem. These have a elastic waist band with ample stretch due to the 4 way stretch of the bamboo fabric. We have added a faux white drawstring for style, and have added extra length to the legs. Wear them rolled up or scrunched on top of a shoe or a pair of our favourite Minimocs ! No more cold ankles. The harem of these pants is the perfect length without being to baggy and allows for a comfy fit around all types of diapers.

Our Modern Harem is available in sizes 3-6m, 6-12m, 12-18m, and 18-24m. We have them in grey stripe and black.

OUR WEDDING DAY: THE CEREMONY

David and I choose to get married in the city where we met, fell in love, and will continue our life together. We decided on the most gorgeous location in the heart of Victoria the Fairmont Empress. We had the most beautiful intimate ceremony in the “Library” of the Empress overlooking the inner harbour surrounded by 20 of our closest family members. We wanted the people who had the most impact on our relationship in the past 3.5 years to celebrate our commitment and love.

The Library of the Empress is stunning. It is full of the most beautiful wood, ornate gold ceiling, chandeliers, book shelves and a large fireplace to warm the space. I knew I wanted to make the space as bright as possible. My vision was white and cream garden like flowers, with added touches of blush and greenery. I worked closely with Vanessa of Verbena Floral Design and the dream gals of Thorn & Thistle to bring my vision to life. They absolutely blew us away with the final product. I could have not dreamt of a more beautiful space to exchange our vows. We also had a local violinist Tatiana Kostour playing as guests arrived, while we walked down the aisle, and through out the ceremony. It was just the added touch we needed.

David and I wanted a welcome sign for our guests but one we could hang in our home. We asked Melanie from Decor By Nature to design a custom sign for us. It was beyond perfect!

All of the flowers in the Library added a “Secret Garden Feel” to the room.

We had the most beautiful name tags in gold calligraphy from Emma Allen

Our nephew Amadeus was our cute little ring bearer. Look at his outfit!

David and I wanted both of our mothers to be our whiteness and sign our marriage license. It was so meaningful for us to have them sign.

OUR WEDDING DAY: GETTING READY

Planning my own wedding was a complete dream, something I had thought about since a little girl. David and I had a short engagement lasting just under 7 months. We knew we wanted to start the next chapter in our lives together, so why wait?!

The night before our wedding we had a lovely dinner downtown Victoria with both of our parents. David and I wanted to thank each of them with gifts and words of love. It only seemed fitting to have it at Il Covo a delicious local italian restaurant since we would be jet setting off to Italy the day after our wedding to honeymoon. After dinner we retuned back to our hotel and the two of us enjoyed one last moment together before the big day sipping cocktails and enjoying dessert in the Q lounge of the Fairmont Empress.

I hardly slept a wink that night with the exciting anticipation of the next day. I was able to spend the night with my mom. It was so meaningful to spend those last few hours with the woman who has been at my side every step of the way.

Deciding on my glam team was a no brainer. I had my amazing cousin Laura who works for Artistry by Alexa for makeup and Elena of Concious Hair. These ladies are seriously the best of the best. Not only are they beyond talented but they are amazing women. I could not have felt more loved and beautiful!

Our amazing photographer Vanessa Lust and videographer Meidany Photography and their teams arrived early and full of energy to begin capturing our day.

To say I did not have pre wedding butterflies would have been a lie. I was so excited and nervous to walk down that aisle. The minute I saw Davids eyes, I knew they would all go away!

I was so excited to have my gorgeous nieces Sophia and Isabella part of our day! Look at their beautiful floral crowns by the talented Thorn & Thistle

My dad wore the most beautiful tie clip once worn by his father. We wanted to incorporate pieces of loved one no longer with us. David also wore a very similar tie clip from my mothers father.

David and I choose not to have a “first look” we are very traditional and wanted the first time we saw each other to be on our wedding day as I walked down the aisle. We choose to write notes to one another along with a gift. I received the most gorgeous Anni Aquamarine Studs by local designer Leah Alexandra that were my “something blue.”
